Pakistan exports red chilli in the form of fresh chillies, stalkless chillies, chillie powder and oleoresin. Pakistan is a major Red Chillie producing country. It is not only an important ingredient in food but is also used for essence production. It is used in foods for pungency and red colour. Chillies are an excellent source of vitamins A, B, C, E & P. Chillies are one of the largest traded spices in the International market. Chilli is the fruit of the Capsaicin. Capsaicin is also a defense mechanism against microbial fungi that invade through punctures made in the outer skin by various insects. Capsaicin is a safe and effective topical analgesic agent in the management of arthritis pain, herpes zoster-related pain, diabetic neuropathy, postmastectomy pain, and headaches.
